The cost of the limousine that you are about to rent for your wedding depends on many factors. I’ll do my best to cover the most important ones in this post. First of all, it is important to consider your budget and to check what you can afford to spend on this type of royal treatment for you, your bride, your family and your guests. I think that you shouldn’t think about hiring such services unless you are able to pay at least several hundred dollars for this particular day. There are many circumstances where a limousine might be necessary and your wedding (this special day that you’ll probably experience once in a lifetime) is an important one. The truth is that you are looking for cheap car rental services you should probably stay away from limos. However, I don’t think it will kill all your financial future if you spend this sum in one day. On the other hand, it will produce unforgettable memories that you and your bride will remember all your life. The costs of a renting a wedding limo usually depend on the model of the hired car, on the experience of the driver and on the hours that you book it for. Hours are limited too! Nevertheless, everything depends on the car rental company that you signed your contract with. Usually, it is possible to make a good deal with them due to the high competition between wedding limo rental agencies. The reason we were able to rent such an affordable white luxury Lincoln in the day of my wedding is because of the large number of car rental companies in New York. If they turn your back on you, you will go to their competitors!

The time of the year, season, week or time of the day
Very important factors that will surely influence the price you are about to pay for hiring a wedding limo is the time of the year and the exact season when you planned your wedding. Usually, spring and autumn are the most overwhelmed and will cost much more than you ever expected. However, you have to know that in case you depend on a very tight and limited budget you might consider either not hiring a wedding limousine or planning your wedding on much later date in winter or summer for example. The day of the week also matters a lot because usually signing a contract with a limo company for a car that you could take advantage during your business days is going to be two times cheaper than during the weekends. People organize their weddings during the free days of the week in order to be able to invite their relatives who might be working or occupied in other business activities. So here you have another reason why you may think about planning your wedding in a Thursday and not Saturday for example. And the final point related to the actual calendar of the limousine car rental and its influence on the prices that you will be charged is the time of the day. Usually resting a wedding limousine in the morning is way cheaper than in the afternoon or even during the night (one night hour of limo rental in New York is about $200 dollars minimum). So if you would like to advantage of this small possible discount make sure you plan all your limo transportation in the first part of the day.

The model and the year of the limousine
The second really crucial aspect that will determine the cost you are about to pay for the limo service is the car that you select and the year it was produced in (aka how old is the limo). While there are cases when old classic wedding limousines are in high demand by lovers of retro cars and these can be really expensive, in most of the cases, especially nowadays, hiring a Hummer model limo produced in 2010 will cost you several times more than going for simple Lincoln from 90’s, that can also be in a very good condition. We had a Lincoln at my wedding in New York and to be honest I simply loved it.

The place where you live
Your hometown will definitely influence the price of the limo. If the company that you are signing the contract with is located in a small town somewhere in the middle of nowhere, chances are that you won’t have to pay as much as I had to when dealing with a New York wedding limousine service. So if you live in NY you can to prepare a pretty deep pocket otherwise you won’t be able to face the price challenges that the car rental company will ask from you. Sometimes people practice this limousine tourism thing and hire services from other towns and end up paying less. Who knows, if you are really interesting in saving a few dollars you might try it out. I have never done it and have no clue how it works!

The distance traveled or time spent
Most of the companies that offers wedding limo services will charge you depending on how much time you want to spend driving. So if you hired the car for five hours you should pay them exactly for these five hours. Otherwise you are going to be required to pay extra fees, which are usually extremely costly and I’m sure that most of you don’t want to experience them. The second way to charge clients is to take money based on the distance traveled or per mile.  So you have the limo for as long as you like (usually as long as the wedding goes) and at the end of the day you both look at the mile counter and see how much you own them for their services. Simple as that.

Hiring a chauffeur is an extra service
I haven’t yet seen limo services that would allow their clients to drive these cars. When we hired our wedding limo in New York, we were offered a very nice chauffeur that was a part of the price we paid, per hour. However, some more luxury companies which are well known for their experienced drivers might charge you for giving you a professional chauffeur. So you never know and it is better to discuss all these aspects before actually singing the contract.

Avoiding peak seasons
I’m sure that most people are looking for information about the cost of a wedding limo because they want to save a few bucks of the price they might be required to pay. My tip is that you guys avoid peak seasons and plan your wedding sometime during winter. However, if you really want to do it in spring or autumn, additional funds are going to be required to take extracted from your pockets since these are the most wedding crowded seasons. My wedding was in the February of 2006 in nice restaurant from New York and we had a very nice limo at a reasonable price. The reason? We managed to avoid the peak season of weddings!
